Jonestown, PA – Injuries Reported in 40-Vehicle Collision on I-81
Jonestown, PA (July 28, 2022) – Police confirmed that 40 vehicles were involved in a serious collision that took place on a Jonestown highway on Thursday afternoon, July 28.
According to authorities, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-81 around the area of mile marker 86.4. Four tractor-trailers, a passenger bus with 30 individuals in it, and several other vehicles were involved in the accident. Police determined that a total of 40 vehicles were involved in the chain-reaction collision, which led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles.
Several local responders, including Jonestown paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Police confirmed that a handful of individuals sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The parties are expected to be okay.
