Irwin, PA – Two Hospitalized After Tractor-Trailer Crash on Pennsylvania Tpke
Irwin, PA (July 2, 2023) – Around 6 p.m. on Saturday evening, July 1, two people were hurt in a serious truck accident that took place on a highway in Irwin.
According to Westmoreland County officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike near the Irwin exit 67. Police confirmed that two passenger vehicles and one tractor-trailer were involved in a chain-reaction collision due to reasons that are not yet known. The accident led to severe damages in the involved vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Two individuals involved in the accident were injured as a result. The parties, who have not yet been formally identified, were rushed to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
A large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for some time. Police urged those in the area to use caution until they cleared the scene.
