Harrisburg, PA – Fatal Accident at Progress Ave and Union Deposit Rd

Harrisburg, PA (July 24, 2020) – Around 8 p.m. on Thursday night, July 23, police confirmed that one person was killed in a fatal accident in Harrisburg.

According to authorities in Dauphin County, the accident took place at the intersection of Progress Avenue and Union Deposit Road when three vehicles collided with one another for reasons that are not yet known.

Numerous emergency responders were prompted to the scene of the accident, which led to extensive damages in the vehicles involved. Multiple patients were also trapped in their vehicles and had to be rescued by fire crews. Paramedics were present at the scene to assist those with injuries, though the extent of their injuries is not yet known. One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The intersection was blocked in all directions for a period of time after the collision.

Police continue their investigation into the accident.
