Harrisburg, PA – Double Fatality in I-81 WreckLaw Pa
Harrisburg, PA (October 10, 2020) – A man from Enola and a woman from Allentown were killed on Interstate 81 on Friday, October 9th after an 18-year-old driver traveling at a high rate of speed struck their car while attempting to change lanes. Pennsylvania State Police said.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, at about 6:15 p.m., 42-year-old Shaun A. Yuhas, and Linda M. Silva, 50, were traveling southbound along Interstate 81 in Harrisburg when Xavier Cruz, 18, a resident of Harrisburg executed an unsafe lane change.
Cruz’s vehicle struck the driver’s side of the other car, causing it to collide with two light poles before it came to a stop on the shoulder.
Cruz struck a concrete barrier but was unharmed during the accident. Both Silva and Yuhas were pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency Medical Services and the Susquehanna Township Volunteer Fire Department both assisted at the crash site.
