Hanover, PA – Man Injured in Pedestrian Accident on Carlisle St

Hanover, PA (October 23, 2022) – Around 9:11 p.m. on the night of Saturday, October 22, a man was injured in a pedestrian accident in Hanover.

According to Hanover Borough Police, the accident happened at night on 1000 Carlisle Street. Police confirmed that an 18-year-old man from Hanover was walking in the area when he started to cross the road. He was suddenly struck by the driver of the Pontiac G6 who remained at the scene after the accident.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was rushed to York Hospital by medical helicopter due to serious injuries. His current condition is not yet known. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Kevin Shaeffer, was not hurt in the accident.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
