Greenwich Township, PA (October 14, 2022) – Two people were injured in a tractor-trailer collision that took place on a highway in Greenwich Township on Friday morning, October 14.

According to Berks County officials, the accident happened around 7:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-78 around the area of exit 35. Multiple vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes at the time, identified as six tractor-trailers, a sedan, and a pickup truck pulling a horse trailer behind it. The vehicles involved in the crash sustained severe damages and had to be towed from the scene.

Local responders, including Berks County paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. A total of two people sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were rushed to local hospitals, though their conditions are not yet known.

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in several lanes for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.

Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
