Greenwich Twp, PA - Pedestrian Killed in Crash on I-78 at MM 40

Greenwich Township, PA (August 23, 2024) – An accident involving a pedestrian on Interstate 78 resulted in the victim's death on Friday afternoon, August 23, according to local authorities.

The Berks County coroner's office confirmed it was called to the scene Friday night. Per troopers with the Pennsylvania State Police and officers with the Greenwich Township Police Department, the pedestrian was hit just before 5:00 p.m. in the westbound lanes near mile marker 40 in Greenwich Township. The Pennsylvania State Police is managing the ongoing investigation and asked witnesses to step forward. No further details were released in the meantime.
