Gettysburg, PA – Fatal Multi-Vehicle Collision in WB Lanes of PA-30
Gettysburg, PA (April 6, 2022) – On Tuesday afternoon, April 5, a fatal multi-vehicle collision took place on a major roadway in Gettysburg.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of PA-30 around the area of Granite Street and Hoffman Road. It was reported that several vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles involved in the accident sustained heavy damages as a result of the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One person, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. It is not known if anyone else was hurt in the accident.
Due to the severity of the collision, a portion of the road was blocked near Hoffman Road until police fully cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
