Fayetteville, PA – Tractor-Trailer Collision with Serious Injuries in NB Lanes of I-81

Fayetteville, PA (August 1, 2023) – Injuries stemmed from a tractor-trailer accident on a major highway in Fayetteville on Monday afternoon, July 31.

According to Franklin County officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-81 around the area of exit 24, Fayette Street. Police confirmed that a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle were involved in an accident in the northbound lanes of the highway due to reasons that are not yet known. The involved vehicles were extensively damaged, and tow trucks were called to the scene.

Several responders, including Fayetteville paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A medical helicopter was seen taking one individual to the hospital, though their condition is not yet known. It is not known if anyone else was hurt.

All lanes of traffic were blocked at the time of the collision. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could resume as normal.

Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision at this time.
