Fayette City, PA (April 16, 2023) – Two people sustained severe injuries in a dump truck accident that took place in Fayette City on the morning of Saturday, April 15.
According to Washington Township Police, the collision happened at 10:40 a.m. at 200 Gilliespie Hollow Road. Police confirmed that a dump truck was traveling in the area when it was involved in a collision with a passenger vehicle due to reasons that are not fully known. The accident led to severe damage to the involved vehicles.
Several local responders in Fayette City, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Two people sustained severe injuries in the accident. One person was rushed to the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and the other was rushed to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Their current conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible so traffic could resume as normal.
