Erie, PA – Salena Waldo Killed in Accident at W 26th St & Cherry StLawPaWriter
Erie, PA (January 3, 2021) – Around 7 p.m. on Saturday evening, January 2, a woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Erie.
According to Erie Police, the accident occurred at the intersection of West 26th Street and Cherry Street. Police confirmed that 50-year-old Salena Waldo was walking at the intersection when she was struck by a vehicle while in the crosswalk.
The driver who struck the pedestrian, identified as Brittany Paulus, was in a Pontiac Grand Am at the time. She was allegedly driving at a high rate of speed when the accident happened.
Waldo was taken to a trauma center for severe injuries. She was pronounced dead while there.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
