Ephrata, PA – Bicycle Accident with Serious Injuries at E Main St & Washington Ave
Ephrata, PA (July 2, 2022) – On Friday, July 1, a bicycle accident that led to serious injuries took place at an intersection in Ephrata.
According to Ephrata Police, the accident happened around 4 p.m. at the intersection of East Main Street and Washington Avenue. Officers arrived at the scene where they found that a 20-year-old was riding his bicycle in the area on the sidewalk. A 22-year-old man in a passenger vehicle was making a slow turn from Main onto Washington at the intersection. The bicyclist slammed into his vehicle due to reasons that are not yet known.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The bicyclist, who has not yet been identified, was rushed to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment. Their condition is not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time. Police worked to quickly clear the scene.
