Elizabeth Township, PA (September 11, 2023) – A man and his young daughter were both left with injuries following a motor vehicle crash that took place on Friday evening in Elizabeth Township.
The police were notified of a crash that occurred at around 6:30 p.m. on September 8. Preliminary investigations show that 36-year-old Nicholas Shoemaker and his three-year-old daughter were using a toy scooter while riding in the area of Robinson Street and Sixth Street during the evening hours.
For unknown reasons, a dark Buick-style SUV was traveling through the roadway and failed to come to a complete stop at the intersection. As the vehicle proceeded forward, it struck the man and his 3-year-old daughter. The impact of the collision caused the man, who was not wearing a helmet, to hit his head on a curb.
Shoemaker suffered injuries to the head and went to a local hospital for emergency treatment. He was then flown to a hospital in Pittsburgh for further treatment.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
We hope the injured victim recovers quickly.
