East Huntingdon Township, PA – Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Train near Skyline Dr and Route 981
East Huntingdon Township, PA (September 12, 2023) – A pedestrian accident reported in Westmoreland County on Monday morning claimed one person’s life.
Reports provided by the police out of East Huntington Township show that a pedestrian was struck by a CSX train in the area of Skyline Drive and Route 981 during the morning hours.
The incident prompted authorities to close off the roadway near the Youghiogheny River.
The pedestrian, who has not been identified to the public, was fatally injured. They were pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
