In the wee hours of this morning, a motor vehicle accident closed part of the Northeast extension. The road was closed between the Lansdale interchange and the Quakertown interchange, spanning two counties. The Quakertown interchange being in Bucks County, and the Lansdale interchange in Montgomery County. Fortunately, the roadway reopened shortly after 4:15 am, before any seriously heavy traffic began to flow.
According to reports, the crash between a truck and a car happened in Telford, near the Ridge Road overpass. The southbound lanes were the only ones that were affected, though a steady amount of traffic felt the consequences. In any event, a medical helicopter was called to the scene, implying that there were catastrophic injuries. Nevertheless, there is no word right now as to the exact extent of any injuries involved in the accident. We only hope that everyone involved in the crash will promptly recover.
