Dornsife, PA (June 30, 2020) – Around 7:05 a.m. this morning, a 15-year-old boy was killed in a fatal bicycle crash in Dornsife.
The teen from Rebuck was struck by a vehicle on Schwaben Creek Road around the area of Sliding Hill Road. The boy was struck by a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 51-year-old Daniel Ferster.
The boy was traveling north on Sliding Hill and was struck by Ferster’s vehicle at the intersection with Schwaben Creek Road. Ferster was traveling around 40 miles an hour and attempted to avoid the bicyclist at the time.
The teen was initially transported to a Danville hospital by medical helicopter but succumbed to his injuries while there.
Ferster was not injured and remained at the scene to cooperate with the police.
No further details have been released but police continue their investigation.
