Derry Township, PA – Five Injured in Route 422 Crash near University Dr & Sipe Ave
Derry Township, PA (August 22, 2023) – Several victims were left with injuries due to a major crash that occurred in Derry Township on Monday morning, August 21.
At around 8:40 a.m., the police and firefighters were called to the scene of a crash that occurred on Route 422, Chocolate Avenue.
According to official reports, a vehicle was traveling westbound on Route 422 when he became involved in a collision. As a result of the crash, the vehicle went off the roadway and down an embankment before colliding with a tree. Authorities arrived at the scene and shut down the roadway between University Drive and Sipe Avenue.
Five people were hurt in the crash. The victims were transported to local hospitals for emergency care.
Crews spent over five hours at the scene as they worked to clear the road and investigate. These investigations are currently ongoing.
