Coopersburg, PA – Woman and Child Killed in Fatal Crash on I-78

Coopersburg, PA (October 26, 2020) – Around 6:25 a.m. on Monday morning, October 26, a woman and child were killed in a Coopersburg truck accident.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident occurred on I-78 around the area of Route 309 when a 32-year-old Allentown woman was driving an Express work van when her vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer due to reasons that are not yet known.

Police confirmed that the tractor-trailer was hauling a trailer and its emergency flashers were on. The driver was outside the truck at the time of the accident.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident. They confirmed that the 32-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She had a 6-year-old female passenger in the front who was also pronounced dead following the collision.

The roadway was blocked in multiple lanes for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the collision continues.
