College Twp, PA – Two-Vehicle Motorcycle Crash at S Atherton St & W Branch Rd
College Township, PA (May 17, 2022) – Around 2:51 p.m. on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 17, a two-vehicle crash took place at an intersection in College Township.
According to local officials, the accident happened at the intersection of South Atherton Street and West Branch Road. A motorcycle and an SUV were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, causing them to collide with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has not yet been identified, was rushed to UPMC Altoona by medical helicopter for treatment of serious injuries. Nobody inside the SUV sustained injuries.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for approximately two hours as police worked to clear the scene.
