Clarks Summit, PA – Injuries Reported in School Bus Crash on Grove St
Clarks Summit, PA (April 1, 2022) – Around 8:30 a.m. on Friday morning, April 1, a school bus crash took place in Clarks Summit.
According to police, the accident happened on Grove Street outside the Clarks Summit Elementary School. A school van carrying students was traveling in the area when it suddenly struck the back of a school bus due to reasons that are not yet known. It is believed that the driver of the van sustained a medical emergency that caused them to lose control of the van and slam into the bus.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Several students were injured in the accident. A few of the kids hit their heads. A total of four victims were taken to the hospital by ambulance. The driver of the van, who has not yet been formally identified, was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
