Clarks Green, PA (September 11, 2018) On September 11th, at 8:40 a.m., a pedestrian injury collision took place in Lackawanna County near the intersection of South Abington Road and East Grove Street. Officials state a vehicle struck the pedestrian for reasons unknown at this time. Emergency responders transported the pedestrian to the hospital for injuries, but medical professionals have not revealed the severity of the injuries as of yet. Police are investigating why the accident occurred.
Pedestrian accidents occur more frequently than they should usually because of negligent driving. Using a cell phone, eating, applying makeup, speeding, driving under the influence, and even conversing with a passenger are all examples of hazardous behavior while driving. Although some examples might seem minute in comparison to others, they’re all equally dangerous because they all take the driver’s focus away from the road.
The most devastating aspect of pedestrian accidents is that they almost always lead to injuries. Pedestrians typically suffer broken bones, brain damage, neck injuries, spinal cord injuries, and even internal injuries. Some injuries last for a lifetime, ultimately limiting an individual’s physical ability to partake in regular daily activities. Because the pedestrian in this accident suffered injuries, a personal injury lawsuit can be filed with the help of a personal injury lawyer.
