Churchill, PA – One Killed in Fatal Three-Vehicle Collision in EB Lanes of I-376
Churchill, PA (July 9, 2022) – One person was killed in a fatal three-vehicle crash that took place on a highway in Churchill on Saturday morning, July 9.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened around 2:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-376 around the area of mile marker 79.8. A driver was traveling west in a Chevrolet Silverado when it struck a Honda HRV due to reasons that are not yet known. The Honda overturned as a result of the crash, sustaining severe damages.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene. A passenger inside the Honda, who has not yet been formally identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Both operators of the involved vehicles were also injured and were hospitalized, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, several eastbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic could return to normal.
