Chester, PA – Teens Killed in Fatal Train Crash Near Wilson St

Chester, PA (April 29, 2023) – Two teens were killed in a fatal train crash that took place in Chester on the afternoon of Saturday, April 29.

According to Chester officials, the accident happened on the railroad tracks at 400 Wilson Street. Police confirmed that a 161 Amtrak train was headed south in the area toward Washington, D.C. There were several children in the area, and two were struck by the train, which was unable to stop in time. After the incident, the train stopped and remained at the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Two teens, who have not yet been identified, were tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.

The area was blocked off for some time after the accident. SEPTA suspended service until the scene was cleared.
