Chambersburg, PA – One Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Crash on I-81
Chambersburg, PA (May 22, 2023) – One person lost their life in a fatal motorcycle accident that took place on a highway in Chambersburg on the afternoon of Sunday, May 21.
According to Franklin County officials, the accident happened on I-81 near the area of Guilford Township. Police confirmed that a motorcyclist was traveling on the highway when they became involved in a collision with a passenger vehicle due to reasons that are not entirely known. The motorcycle was badly damaged as a result of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other Chambersburg responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has not yet been formally identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. It is not known if anyone was injured in the collision.
A large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for some time. This led to delays until police fully cleared the scene.
No further details have been released, but the investigation into the collision continues.
