Centralia, PA – Five Injured in Rollover Accident on PA-42

Centralia, PA (June 7, 2023) – Five people sustained injuries in a rollover accident that took place on a major roadway in Centralia on Tuesday afternoon, June 6.

According to Aristes officials, the accident happened late in the afternoon on PA-42 heading into Centralia. Police confirmed that a driver was traveling in a Chevrolet Suburban when they lost control of their vehicle, causing it to roll multiple times. Three out of five people inside the vehicle were ejected when the vehicle rolled.

Fire crews and paramedics were immediately dispatched to the scene. Fire crews worked to free one trapped victim from inside their vehicle. One of the victims was rushed to a local hospital by medical helicopter, and another was supposed to be airlifted but was unable to be due to smoke conditions in the area. Three other victims were taken to the hospital by ambulance. Their identities and conditions remain unknown at this time.

The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police reopened the road around 7 p.m.

No further details have been released, but the investigation into the collision continues.
