Carlisle, PA – Serious Pedestrian Accident Involving Dump Truck on N Hanover St

Carlisle, PA (September 28, 2022) – On Wednesday morning, September 28, a pedestrian was seriously injured in an accident at a Carlisle intersection.

According to Carlisle Police, the accident happened in the early morning hours at the intersection of North Hanover Street and Penn Street. Police confirmed that the accident happened when a dump truck was headed through the intersection and struck a pedestrian who was crossing the street. The driver of the dump truck remained at the scene of the crash.

Carlisle responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has not yet been publicly identified, was severely injured in the crash. They were rushed to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The intersection was blocked for several hours. Police urged those in the area to use alternate routes throughout the morning hours until the scene was fully cleared.

It is not known if the dump truck driver was charged for their role in the accident. The investigation into the accident continues.
