Carbondale, PA – Tractor-Trailer Rear-End Collision with Injuries on Casey HwyPa Accident News
Carbondale, PA (August 23, 2022) – One person was injured in a serious tractor-trailer accident that took place in Carbondale on Tuesday afternoon, August 23.
According to Lackawanna County officials, the accident happened at 1:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Casey Highway. A tractor-trailer was traveling in the area when it collided with the rear of a passenger vehicle around the area of the Jessup exit. The passenger vehicle involved in the crash was badly damaged as a result of the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person inside the passenger vehicle was injured in the crash. They were rushed to the hospital for treatment, though their current condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the eastbound lanes of traffic for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
