Pedestrian Accidents in Pennsylvania
Pedestrian accidents are known for being some of the most severe accidents on Pennsylvania roads. This is due to the fact that pedestrians have no protection from harm when involved in an accident. Many pedestrians are seriously injured or even killed in accidents every year within the state. In fact, in just 2017 alone, it was reported that approximately 150 pedestrians were killed and many others were seriously injured in accidents due to the reckless acts of others.
Drivers are expected to pay close attention to the roads around them so that pedestrian accidents can be prevented. However, this does not always occur and so these accidents take place every year. If you have been hurt in a pedestrian accident, you should have the help of an attorney on your side.
Being hurt in a pedestrian accident might be one of the most challenging things that you have ever faced. More often than not, a pedestrian accident takes place because a driver has engaged in reckless acts. Some of these acts include the following:
- Texting while driving or engaging in other distractions
- Falling asleep at the wheel
- Failing to yield the right-of-way
- Driving under the influence
- Speeding or driving aggressively
