Buckingham Township, PA (August 21, 2023) - Emergency officials in Bucks County confirmed that the vice president of the New Hope Borough Council, Laurie McHugh, lost her life as a result of a truck crash that occurred on Monday afternoon.
The crash took place at around 1:00 p.m. on August 21.
According to reports provided by officials, McHugh was driving an Audi on Route 413 when her vehicle collided with a tractor-trailer for unknown reasons.
The police and firefighters responded to the scene and shut down the roadway near Upper Mountain Road.
The Buckingham Police Department confirmed that McHugh incurred severe injuries due to the truck crash. She was transported to a local hospital, where she passed away.
The truck driver was transported to a local hospital for medical care.
The crash is being investigated at this time.
