Blairsville, PA (February 19, 2024) – Following a collision in Westmoreland County on Monday afternoon, a woman was killed, per local authorities.
The incident occurred just after noon at Barkley Road and Route 217, between Derry and Blairsville, blocking traffic in both directions. According to officers, a 49-year-old woman was involved in a head-on collision with a southbound car on Route 217. She was declared dead at the scene after the crash. A 10-year-old passenger in the woman’s vehicle, as well as the other driver, was transported by air to a hospital in the Pittsburgh region.
