Bicycle Crash on Toms Run Road in Wayne Township Severely Injures Homer Dodson
Wayne Township, Pennsylvania (August 23, 2017) – An elderly man is recovering in a hospital after being severely injured in a traffic crash Tuesday in Wayne Township, a local news source reported.
The collision occurred just before noon on Tuesday, August 22, in the 400 block of Toms Run Road.
73-year-old Homer Dodson of Brave has been identified as the victim who was severely hurt when he was hit by a vehicle in the crash.
According to a report by Greene County Regional Police, Dodson was leaving his driveway onto the road when he “rode into traffic” and was hit by a vehicle being driven by Charles Rose of New Freeport.
At the time of the crash, Rose, who was traveling with his wife, did not have a cell to call 911. His wife got out to stay with the victim while Rose drove away to search for help.
Brave Volunteer Fire Department and Southwest EMS responded to the crash site. Dodson was flown to Ruby Memorial for treatment.
Meanwhile, Rose is cooperating with authorities as they do an investigation into the collision. No charges have been done.
Being injured in a collision because of the negligence of a third party can be a traumatic experience. If someone else caused you injury because he was reckless, it is recommended to file a case in court.
