Bethlehem, PA (February 3, 2021) – Around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, February 2, a train accident with injuries occurred in Bethlehem.

According to officials, the accident happened on the railroad tracks around the area of Riverside Drive and Union Station Plaza. Police confirmed that a Norfolk Southern freight train was traveling through the area when it struck a front-end loader operated by an employee who was working on the property.

The operator was immediately ejected from the loader due to the impact of the collision. Paramedics and numerous other responders were quickly dispatched to the scene of the accident. The operator was rushed to the hospital, though their condition is not yet known. Nobody else was injured in the accident.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
