Bethlehem, PA (July 13, 2018) On Friday night, 57-year old Dean Tomsic crashed his car into an above-ground pool in a family’s yard in Bushkill Township. Officials say the Tomsic seemed to be on a drunken-rampage. He drove through two yards before he reached the pool. Two children and two adults hopped out of the pool just in time; therefore, they avoided injuries.
After crashing into their pool, Tomsic proceeded through another yard and hit a water well casing. Officials arrested him when his car trapped itself in a dirt embankment. The police charged him with driving under the influence, resisting arrest, and aggravated assault.
It’s also unclear how much property the driver damaged. The accident occurred on 300 Old Allentown Road.
Because the leading cause of car accidents is negligence, many accidents can easily be avoided. In this case, the driver could have avoided the accident if he wasn’t under the influence. He almost injured and/or killed a family, all because of his reckless driving. The family could still file a lawsuit for property damage, and/or the emotional distress the accident caused.
