Bern Twp, PA – Two Teens Killed in Fatal Truck Crash on PA-183

Bern Township, PA (April 6, 2023) – Two teenagers were killed in a fatal box truck accident that took place on a major roadway in Bern Township on Thursday afternoon, April 6.

According to Berks County officials, the accident happened at 12:30 p.m. on PA-183 around the area of Fairview Drive. Police confirmed that a passenger vehicle and a box truck were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The involved vehicles were badly damaged in the accident.

Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Two teenagers inside the passenger vehicle, identified as a 17-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, were tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was hurt in the accident, according to police.

Due to the severity of the collision, PA-183 was blocked in the area of Palisades Drive for about three hours.
