Belle Vernon, PA – One Killed in Fatal Car Accident on I-70

Belle Vernon, PA (October 21, 2020) – On Wednesday evening, October 20, one person was killed and others were injured in a Belle Vernon crash.

According to state police, the accident took place on I-70 around the area of Youghiogheny River Bridge when four vehicles collided with each other in the area. The crash occurred when traffic was stopped for a previous accident and a tractor-trailer hit a stopped car. The truck slammed into the rear-end, starting a serious chain-reaction crash.

The unidentified party was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Four others were seriously injured and taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their current conditions are not yet known.

Due to the severity of the crash, all lanes of I-70 were closed down in the area of the accident.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
