Bedford, PA – Woman Injured in Pedestrian Accident at Lincoln Hwy Sheetz
Bedford, PA (May 30, 2023) – A woman sustained injuries in a serious pedestrian accident that took place at a Sheetz parking lot in Bedford on Friday, May 26.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the accident happened around 8:45 a.m. in the Sheetz parking lot on Lincoln Highway. Police confirmed that a woman was walking across the parking lot while a driver started to back out of her parking spot. The driver struck the pedestrian and pinned her against a second vehicle.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other Bedford responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian woman was taken to UPMC Bedford with injuries, though her condition is not yet known. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 24-year-old Lauren Felix, was not hurt in the collision.
The area was blocked off for some time after the accident. Police confirmed that Felix received a citation for ‘limitations on backing’ for her role in the collision.
