Aliquippa, PA – One Killed in Fatal Box Truck Accident on PA-51

Aliquippa, PA (May 20, 2023) – One person was killed in a fatal box truck that took place on a major roadway in Aliquippa on the night of Saturday, May 20.

According to Beaver County officials, the accident happened around 9 p.m. on PA-51 around the area of Station Street. Police confirmed that a passenger vehicle was traveling in the area when it collided with a box truck due to reasons that are not entirely known. The involved vehicles sustained severe damages and tow trucks were called to the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person, who has not yet been formally identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. A total of two victims sustained serious injuries and were taken to local hospitals by medical helicopter.

The roadway was blocked in several lanes of traffic for some time until police cleared the scene. This led to extensive delays in the area.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing. Police will update with more information as it becomes available.
