In a seemingly bizarre coincidence, two women were injured in two separate motor vehicle accidents at nearly the same location in Lycoming County. The accidents occurred late last night within 90 minutes of each other in Williamsport. Both crashes occurred near the UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport Regional Medical Center, and a total of three people (two women and one child) are currently being treated for injuries.
The first crash happened around 8:00 p.m. when a woman who was traveling with a small child had a seizure behind the wheel. She was reportedly heading east on High Street when she suffered the seizure and went off the road. The vehicle smashed into a tree, a light pole and a utility pole before landing in the street. The female driver is being treated for serious or possibly catastrophic injuries. The second accident occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. approximately 8 blocks west when a woman crashed into a parked vehicle and subsequently overturned on East Fourth Street.
