One Injured in Penn Township Rear-End Accident at Mile Post 270.8
Penn Township, Pennsylvania (September 1, 2017) – One motorist was hospitalized following a rear-end crash Friday morning in Penn Township, according to an article by a local news source.
The collision transpired shortly after 4:00 a.m. Friday, September 1 at mile post 270.8.
As per the article, a big rig rear-ended a track-trailer in the roadway and debris were scattered all over the area of the crash. The incident caused significant backups from the Reading interchange in East Cocalico Township.
One driver sustained injuries in the crash and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Paramedics confirmed that the condition of the victim was not life-threatening.
Crews were deployed to the area of the incident for cleanup.
The westbound Pennsylvania Turnpike between Reading and Lancaster-Lebanon interchanges were shut down until around 7:30 a.m.
